Direct Marketing News, a marketing industry group, awarded the PTEG app with an honorable mention in the entertainment category of its annual national competition and recognized it for its development of interactive content with direct CMS integration.

The app allows Golden Rewards and Beer & Bites members to access special offers and benefits like free play gaming, video poker tournaments and football pick’em contests. The app also allows guests PT’s tavern guests to stream television audio through their mobile device, and has helped to draw younger patrons to the 54 PT’s stores in the Las Vegas valley.

“We were gratified the judges recognized the capabilities of the PTEG mobile app,” said Ross Gdovin, vice president of marketing for Golden Entertainment.

“The honorable mention award is a tremendous recognition for the mobile app, given the magnitude of the companies it competed against,” he added.

The winner of the entertainment competition was Samsung Electronics America for its development of virtual reality app displayed at Comic Con and used in the film “Suicide Squad.” Other finalists included submissions from DishNetwork and Warner Music Group.

For the poker component of the application, PTEG teamed up with VideoPoker.com to build out the platform, capabilities and content.

“It was a real pleasure to work with such forward-thinking partners who proved that engaging with customers using real video poker games through their mobile devices could influence their loyalty, behavior and spending habits through increased patronage,” said Mike Fields, executive vice president of Action Gaming and VideoPoker.com.

“I thought it was awesome to see PTEG competing effectively with technology giants like Samsung,” he said.
