Ainsworth president sees more Latin American growth

Ainsworth Gaming is on a seven-year winning streak in Latin America, and even though there might be some choppy waters ahead, Miguel Cuadros is optimistic.

Cuadros, president of the Latin American division of Ainsworth, said the company’s slot machines continue to gain market share in Latin America and the Caribbean.

“We have seen demand increase, and success with what we call ‘winning products,’” he said. Top new titles include Super Hot 7’s, with a four-level progressive jackpot, and Super Charged 7’s, Mustang and Glitter Jewel.

Placements in Latin America have increased every year since 2011, he said.

The company, which began in Australia, is among the top three for slots in many Latin American countries, he said, and has grown from five employees focused on the region to 250. The company has a Las Vegas office, but Cuadros lives in South Florida. Ainsworth has an office in Deerfield Beach, Fla.

There are factors to consider, such as in Colombia, where casinos vary by geographical location and differ a great deal in size.

“For example, in Bogota and Medellin, there are many medium to large operations that offer the latest technology to its players,” he said. “This is where we have introduced our latest product developments and innovations, while our core Multi Game product remains a top performer in any venue placed.”

Cuadros said the success of AGT’s products in Latin America relies on what he calls “brilliant” efforts put forth by game designers and engineers, who he said create games that offer a superb gaming experience and concentrate on time on device.

“These developments, coupled with a solid sales force and individuals with vast experience in the regions, are key to our advancement,” he said.

Cuadros is also pleased with the company’s new A620 cabinet, which is sleek, yet retains a classic slot machine design.

“We look at what is the demand of the player, and they’re saying they like a classic, aesthetic look,” he said. “Most of our research and development money is spent on the game itself.”
