More jobs are coming to Southland Casino in West Memphis, Ark., as part of a $250 million expansion.

Southland Casino’s new complex will include thousands of slot machines, entertainment venues, and multiple dining options, but the main goal before the complex opens is to get people hired.

“We’re trying to fill some roles that are opening,” said Southland Marketing Director Jeff Strang. Strang said there is more to the expansion than just a new coat of paint. In addition to the $250 million expansion, it’s a chance to give more than 400 people a job they can advance in.

West Memphis Mayor Marco McClendon told FOX13 it will impact the area for the better.
