Brugnaro Casino: the negotiation starts again

After the “No”s declared victory in the referendum on the approval of the company contract for the Venice Casino, the ball has returned to the court of the Municipality. It has decided to reopen negotiations “in the interest of the citizens of Venice, who are the real owners of the company”, according to the Mayor of Venice Luigi Brugnaro.

Brugnaro declared that they would begin the process of relaunching the Casino, as specified by electoral mandate.

“The municipal administration,” he stated, “the owner of the gambling house, has taken part in all the negotiations with the trade unions, though they are often in disagreement with them. Noting that there is not even unity amongst the employees’ representatives, I decided, in any case, to reach out, to try, one last time, to find an agreement with the workers.”.

He added that they will take the time needed over this, but that it will not be indefinite.
