California: Eagle Mountain Casino closer to relocating to Porterville Kyra Haas, Visalia Times-Delta · November 8, 2019 at 3:37 pm Eagle Mountain Casino is one step closer to relocating down the hill to Porterville. The Bureau of Indian Affairs formally found the relocation beneficial to the Tule River Indian Tribe and not harmful to surrounding communities. Water restrictions and drought on the reservation, along with economic issues, prompted the tribe to start the lengthy relocation process in 2016. The next step is getting Gov. Gavin Newsom to agree with the bureau’s determination. The bureau issued a letter to Newsom asking him to do so, and the governor has one year to make his decision.
