“This casino has been a long time coming, with the official compact approval being received in 2018 after more than a decade of attempts to move forward,” said Mechoopda Tribal Chairman Dennis Ramirez. “Palace Hospitality’s knowledge and experience in developing successful casino-operation methods and programs make them a perfect fit for our new venture.”

The new casino will be located on 91 acres near Highways 99 and 149 on the south bank of Clear Creek. Approved for a Class III gaming license, the casino will offer approximately 300 slot machines to start. It also will feature a food court, bar, and player’s club. The casino will be open to those 21 years and older. Officials anticipate a 12-month construction schedule.

The Mechoopda casino will also create an estimated 300 new jobs in the area.

“Our working business model for the Mechoopda Tribe will create an incredible casino, generate revenue, and build positive community relationship,” said Michael Olujic, Principal of Palace Hospitality.

Palace Hospitality is a development, management, and consulting enterprise created by Tachi Palace Casino Resort executives and members of the Santa Rosa Rancheria Tachi-Yokut Tribal Council. The company’s goal is to help Tribal Nations become self-sufficient and develop strategic plans for responsible growth without permanent incorporation into their business.
