The Tachi-Yokut Tribe Thursday announced that Walter Gunn has been named Director of Safety and Security for Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, California.

Gunn has more than a quarter-century of experience in security management and law enforcement and previously worked at Harlow’s Casino Resort and Spa in Greenville, Mississippi, and Rivers Casino in Philadelphia.

“The safety of our guests and employees is of the utmost importance to us,” said Tachi Palace Casino Resort General Manager Michael Olujic in a statement. “Walter comes to us with great ideas and vision to upgrade and enhance our security measures in and around the casino.”

Gunn will work closely with local law enforcement, ensuring more of a presence on the property with on-site patrolling and walk-throughs.

Also, new safety measures are being implemented on the property, including the addition of eight Patriot One Multi-Sensor Gateways at locations across the resort. The state-of-the-art sensors detect concealed weapons and other potentially dangerous objects. The non-intrusive system, designed to not interrupt flow in and out of the casino, will detect those items and automatically alert security staff.

“I look forward to building productive working relationships with federal, state and local law enforcement as well as working closely with our Tribal officials,” Gunn said in a statement. “Adding all of these new extra security measures, we are taking advanced precautions to ensure the safety of the guests, employees, property and assets.”
