Class II and Class III slot developer Castle Hill Gaming announced Thursday it will open a new 20,000-square-foot headquarters in Stonefield, Virginia. The headquarters will be the anchor tenant of a $45 million mixed use development.

Castle Hill’s expansion follows a grant the company received last June from the Virginia Jobs Investment Program to hire and train 106 new employees; Albemarle County’s Economic Development Authority also provided a matching grant.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our headquarters, where we can attract new talent in data science, software design, and development to our new facilities once they are open,” said Arthur Watson, CEO of Castle Hill Gaming.

In addition to Virginia, Castle Hill Gaming has nearly thirty employees in Oklahoma where its machines are popular in tribal casinos and the company is licensed by the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission. Castle Hill Gaming is one of only four companies in the country that develops Historical Horse Racing products.

Castle Hill Gaming settled a lawsuit in 2019 filed by rival Aristocrat Technologies’ subsidiary Video Gaming Technologies, accusing the company of infringements of VGT trademarks, trade dress, and trade secrets. Castle Hill considered it a victory that 19 of the 20 trademark claims were dismissed and settled for $3 million.
