The Commission also awarded Las Vegas-based Circa Sports a license for Internet and mobile sports wagering through one of Century’s online skins.

Colorado, which legalized sports betting last year, is still anticipating launching the activity in conjunction with the state’s casinos in Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek by May 1. Mobile sports wagering is was approved by voters along with retail sportsbooks.

However, the coronavirus pandemic has closed the state’s casinos and caused professional and collegiate sports to curtail all games since last month.

In a statement, Century said the commission is moving forward with licensing and will meet May 1 legislative launch date deadline.

“Due to impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the sports betting industry, the company is uncertain of the timeline that the Circa Sports mobile sports betting app will launch,” the company said.

Century Casinos said it has two more master licenses available in Colorado and is in active negotiations with several potential sports betting partners.
