Century Casinos properties in Poland to remain closed through end of January

Colorado-based Century Casinos said Friday it would keep its gaming properties in Poland closed through Jan. 31 to comply with quarantines issued by the Polish government to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The company closed its eight casinos back in December.

Century owns 66.6% ownership interest in Casinos Poland Ltd. In a statement, the company said its Poland operating segment contributed 4% of Century’s overall cash flow for the quarter that ended Sept. 30.

Century, which is headquartered in Colorado Springs, operates casinos and racetrack casinos in Colorado, West Virginia, Missouri, and Canada

In a statement, Century said the rapid evolvement of COVID-19 and the pandemic’s current scope “will adversely impact the company at least through the first half of 2021.”

Century shares, traded on the Nasdaq, closed at $7.30 on Friday, unchanged from a week earlier.
