East Windsor could see millions of dollars in state funding as a group of lawmakers attempts to compensate the town for losing out on the Tribal Winds Casino.

As part of the new gambling agreement between Connecticut’s two tribal nations and the state, which made way for online gambling and sports betting, plans for the East Windsor casino must be halted for at least 10 years.

Sen. Catherine Osten, D-Sprague, who has been a staunch supporter of the tribes and expanded gambling, is pursuing $3 million per year for East Windsor in the budget implementer bill that is expected to be finished this week.
