Sports betting operator FanDuel and Baltimore-based The Cordish Companies announced a partnership agreement Thursday that will bring sports betting to the casino company’s Live! properties throughout the U.S.

The initial agreement covers Cordish’s planned Live! Hotel and Casino in Philadelphia that is expected to open next year near the complex which houses the stadiums and arenas for the city’s professional sports franchises. Pennsylvania legalized sports betting earlier this year.

In a joint statement, the companies said the agreement would expand as legal sports betting is authorized in markets where Cordish has properties. The companies will pursue sports betting licenses and online gaming opportunities in Maryland, home of Cordish’s flagship Maryland Live! resort near Baltimore.

“We are excited to partner with FanDuel to bring our customers the premier sports betting experience in the country, including promotions and sports engagement opportunities that will only be available at Live! properties,” said Cordish Companies Principal Joseph Weinberg.

Cordish’s Live! properties welcome over 55 million visitors a year while FanDuel has more than 8.5 million customers across 45 states who play on the company’s daily fantasy sports sites and can now wager both in person and online with FanDuel branded sportsbooks in states offering the activity.

“With 10 decades of experience, The Cordish Companies have created the model for integrated sports, gaming, entertainment and hospitality destinations,” FanDuel Group CEO Matt King said in a statement. “This partnership allows us to capitalize on the incredible success of sports betting to date and bring FanDuel’s top sports betting operations to Cordish destinations across the United States.”
