Groupe Tranchant is about to carve its name into the history of gambling and nightlife in Paris. The family company, which plans to invest €6 to €7 million in the venture, has just obtained the green light from the authorities to operate a gaming club in the eighth arrondissement (west of Paris).

The establishment will include thirty gaming tables and a restaurant, said Groupe Tranchant founder and President Georges Tranchant. Its opening will take place “during the spring”.

However, Groupe Tranchant still has some work to do. In addition to the redevelopment and securing of the premises, the operator must recruit and train staff, about 160 people in total.

Slot machines, electronic tables and roulette will not be allowed. They do expect to run punto blanco and various forms of poker.

Tranchant is one of three operators authorized, on an experimental basis, to operate gaming clubs in Paris. The initial period is slated to run three years, beginning in 2018.
