The Hard Rock is the first Atlantic City casino to reopen its buffet.

The Fresh Harvest Buffet is open for lunch and dinner, but patrons aren’t permitted to be near or see the food. Instead, diners order their meals from a wait person off a menu and the food is brought to them from the serving line. It’s first-come first-served (no reservations) and the the number of patrons is limited to 25% of capacity. The price is $29.99 per person and Fresh Harvest is open noon to 9 p.m. daily, except Friday and Saturday until 10.

A similar buffet format was implemented by the Wynn Las Vegas, the first all-you-can-eat spread to reopen after the 78-day shutdown of Las Vegas casinos. The Buffet at the Wynn opened on June 15, but closed again on September 4, just before Labor Day weekend.

According to a Wynn spokesperson, the decision was based on negative feedback from patrons about the reimagined buffet experience, which was more like a sit-down restaurant than a traditional buffet, including the reservations, which were required.

The two buffets now open in Las Vegas are at Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan and the South Point Buffet. One buffet is open in Reno at the Atlantis. At all three, diners are allowed to approach the serving stations, where servers dish up the food.

The Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace was scheduled to reopen in August, but that was postponed indefinitely.
