The company, which provides equipment to both casinos and lotteries worldwide, said the Kentucky Lottery Corp. was exercising its five one-year extension options in which IGT will provide new self- service lottery vending machines and updated technology.

Under the terms of the extension, IGT will increase its presence in the state and provide Kentucky with an additional 575 self-service vending machines and approximately 1,400 total cashless draw machines. The devices allow players to use credit or debit cards to purchase lottery products.

Also, IGT provides the Kentucky Lottery Corp. with facilities management, field service, call center services, and marketing support.

Kentucky Lottery Corp. CEO Tom Delacenserie said the state has experienced growth in its lottery since the activity was launched in 1989. IGT’s predecessor company, GTech Holdings, has provided equipment and services to the lottery since its inception.

“IGT’s forward-thinking products and solutions have delivered convenience to our retailers and players for the last 30 years, and we’re pleased to continue our longstanding partnership in the years to come,” Delacenserie said.

IGT Chief Operating Officer, Lottery Jay Gendron said cashless features “help the lottery attract a new demographic of players and maximize sales growth.”
