Jack Entertainment to lay off 92 in Detroit following Greektown Casino-Hotel sale Kurt Nagl, Crain's Detroit Business · September 11, 2019 at 3:15 pm Jack Entertainment LLC is moving to lay off 92 employees following Dan Gilbert’s $1 billion sale of Greektown Casino-Hotel earlier this year. The layoffs at the Detroit-based company are expected to begin in November and be complete by the first quarter of 2020, according to a WARN notice filed with the state. Employees at the company are nonunionized and do not have bumping rights. Gilbert-owned Jack Entertainment sold the hotel and gaming property to Vici Properties Inc. and Penn National Gaming Inc. in a deal finalized in May. The move was part of the billionaire’s strategy to unload a large chunk of his gaming portfolio.
