According to media reports, the player, identified only as Kevin – a part-time Las Vegas resident – hit the jackpot at $12:30 pm after playing $40 on the machine, which was part of a statewide progressive slot network operated by International Game Technology.

According to a news release, the prize was the state’s largest slot jackpot in eight years.

The Suncoast, which near the Summerlin area of western Las Vegas, is owned by Boyd Gaming Corp.

IGT introduced Megabucks in 1987. The largest Megabucks jackpot ever was won in 2003 at the Excalibur when a player won more than $39 million.
