The company currently owns the Wendover Nugget and Red Garter Hotel in Wendover. The privately held company now operates 1,200 hotel rooms and 1,500 slot machines in Nevada.

We intend to acquire more assets in Northern Nevada in the near future,” said Eric Persson, majority owner of Maverick Gaming.

Maverick is in the process of closing two previously announced transactions in Washington.

Last September the company said it was acquiring Nevada Gold & Casinos, which will give Maverick nine casinos, including seven in the greater Seattle area. Two other casinos are in Eastern Washington. In April, Maverick announced it was buying Great Canadian Gaming’s three casinos in the Seattle area.

The Washington transactions are pending the approval of the Washington State Gambling Commission.
