MGM Northfield Park, who initially laid off most of its workforce, said on Friday that it will continue to stay closed under the state’s order, which affects 937 employees. MGM Northfield said it will provide benefits for all eligible employees who are enrolled on its health plan through Aug. 31, 2020. Due to the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic, the casino said it had to reassess its reopening date, which is out of its control as hotels and casinos will be among the last businesses permitted to resume operations.
