Michigan: 1,489 Four Winds Casinos employees on furlough during mandated closure Kayla Miller, MLive.com · April 15, 2020 at 6:55 am Nearly 1,500 employees of Four Winds Casinos have been placed on a temporary furlough. Four Winds Casinos, which has four locations in the region, notified 1,489 employees that, because of the statewide closures implemented in response to the spread of the coronavirus, according to paperwork filed with the state of Michigan Monday. The temporary furloughs were effective Monday, the casino said. Four Winds Casinos has Michigan locations in New Buffalo, Dowagiac and Hartford as well as South Bend, Indiana. The Pokagon Gaming Authority closed all those casinos March 17 “for the safety and well-being of the employees,” the casino said.
