Nebraska residents voted to legalize gambling at horse race tracks last year. Now more and more cities are wanting to get in on the action.
At the most recent Nebraska State Racing Commission meeting, five locations submitted an application to start a track with the long-term goal of also bringing in a casino.
Now some are concerned there might be too many and it would take away from the original six places that were in mind when people voted.
“That was our intention and I think it was the intention of the voters,” District 35 Senator Ray Aguilar told Local4 News.
