Nevada: How Laughlin plans to emerge from the pandemic with these upgrades

Like Las Vegas and Southern California, the gambling destination of Laughlin, Nevada, was hit hard by the novel coronavirus pandemic. Casinos in the Colorado River-adjacent city shuttered for months in the early part of the pandemic and long-term projects that the casinos and other businesses started were put on the back burner.

But those businesses are hoping that 2021 will be the year that they can either resume or complete those projects. Here’s a look at what’s coming to two casinos and a river tour company in the near future.

Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino: The casino resort property that was started by Don Laughlin, (which is where the city of Laughlin draws its name), has grown immensely since opening in 1966. The resort started a $22 million hotel room renovation of its 1,350 rooms in spring 2020.
