Reno-based company, Gary Platt Manufacturing, is celebrating a significant milestone today: the creation of their one-millionth casino chair.

If you’ve enjoyed playing slot machines at the Atlantis, Grand Sierra Resort, Peppermill, or Tamarack Junction in Reno, you’ve likely sat in a Gary Platt chair.

Mayor Hillary Schieve proclaimed June 21 as “Gary Platt Day,” as the manufacturing company celebrated alongside their 120 employees, Reno Aces mascot Archie, and Assemblymember Natha Anderson.

Founder Gary Platt addressed the crowd via video. At 96-years-old, Platt still plays an active role in the company.
