The rise of legal sports wagering in the U.S. has dominated headlines and newsfeeds since the U.S. Supreme Court invalidated the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act.

But we at CDC Gaming Reports know the gaming industry is more than just a sports book.

We are currently planning our coverage for the annual Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. CDC will have journalists and gaming industry insiders following all the key issues, topics and events throughout gaming’s largest tradeshow and conference – Oct. 8-11 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.

CDC Gaming Reports will produce five special issues of “From the Floor” at G2E, starting with a preview issue that will come out Sunday, Oct. 7. Each issue will arrive in your email box by 4:30 pm PT.

As for legal sports wagering, we plan to cover the events and issues surrounding the topic, including panel sessions, the sports betting symposium, new products for the sports betting floor, and the keynote session with ESPN personality Scott Van Pelt.

But CDC will also investigate and report on other gaming industry topics and innovations, including new slot machine trends, table game advancements, gaming industry financial issues, esports, up-coming companies, skill-based gaming, the daily innovation lab, and the Oct. 11 “Shark Tank”-style G2E Innovation Incubator. Plus, well will have interviews with insiders and key personalities and commentary on various topics.

I’m pleased to have a team ready to roam the trade show floor and sit in on the conferences. They will seek out the most interesting stories, discussions, personalities, events and topics.

Associate Publisher Cory Roberts and I will lead the coverage. Veteran journalists Buck Wargo, John L. Smith, and Mark Gruetze will be joined by insiders Buddy Frank, David Schwartz, Dave Newton, Richard Munchkin, Bob Dancer and Andrew Tottenham. As for myself, I don’t plan on spending the whole time in the press room. I will also be looking to find the most newsworthy gaming topics.

Senior Analyst Ken Adams and Associate Editor Justin Martin will remain at the home offices to make sure all our CDC Gaming Reports daily newsletters get out on time.

And what about Publisher Jeffrey Compton? He plans to visit every tradeshow floor booth – all 369 exhibitors from Abbaidt Casino Equipment to Zytronic – over the three days. We’re sure he will suggest some interesting story topics.

So, we’re a month out, and here’s my pitch to you. If you have a topic or suggestion that we should explore, email me at hstutz@cdcgamingreports.com.

I look forward to seeing you at G2E.
