PT’s Entertainment Group first in Las Vegas to offer innovative gaming experience to tavern guests

Howard Stutz, Golden Entertainment · October 24, 2016 at 4:12 pm

LAS VEGAS (October 24, 2016) – Taverns operated by Golden Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:GDEN) are the first Southern Nevada locations for StarBar video gaming devices, which contain a variety of table games. Through its wholly-owned PT’s Entertainment Group (PTEG), Golden Entertainment is the largest traditional tavern gaming operator in Nevada.

PTEG has a “first to market” arrangement with gaming equipment developer Interblock USA to place the bar top style games in the company’s PT’s, Sean Patrick’s and Sierra Gold locations. The video gaming devices were recently approved by the Nevada Gaming Control Board and Nevada Gaming Commission following a testing period at PTEG taverns.

“We learned during the field trial that PTEG guests have a real demand for a table game experience in our tavern locations,” said Jay Fennel, vice president of gaming development for Golden Entertainment. “Our deal with Interblock allows us to provide innovative gaming devices and a variety of realistic table game experiences to our guests.”

The StarBar games feature variations of video poker, as well as versions of blackjack, baccarat, roulette, craps, and keno. The machines also contain table game side wager opportunities and several video slot machine titles.
Players control which games they want to play through a touch-sensitive display technology. The games also contain multi-play functionality, where guests can easily play up to four games at once while quickly switching back and forth between contests.
The game’s display shows player actions, including wagers and winnings.

“Craps was the No. 1 game played on the StarBar machines by our guests during the field trial,” Fennel said.

“We are delighted with the success of Golden Entertainment’s 30-day field trial of StarBar, which demonstrated not only that demand exists for table games in a bar top format, but also that our product is uniquely positioned to meet this demand,” said Interblock CEO John Connelly. “The field trial gave us additional insights into making StarBar one of the most diversified table game products, and we look forward to a long and mutually advantageous partnership with Golden Entertainment.”

The StarBar machines can be found currently in eight PTEG tavern locations: PT’s Gold at 5630 South Hualapai Way; PT’s Gold at 10075 South Eastern Avenue; PT’s Gold at 6570 South Buffalo Drive; PT’s Pub at 4424 Spring Mountain Road; Sierra Gold at 2400 North Buffalo Drive; Sierra Gold at 6515 South Jones Boulevard; PT’s Gold at 1661 East Sunset Road; and PT’s Pub at 9050 West Post Road.

Fennel said the company is making plans to expand StarBar to other PTEG locations. Future plans call for bringing StarBar devices into Nevada locations under the umbrella of Golden Route Operations, the company’s distributed gaming arm.
