(NASDAQ: GDEN) has updated its mobile application and will now offer guests of the company’s wholly-owned taverns interactive free play gaming opportunities, such as video poker tournaments and football pick’em contests.The app will also feature a link to cutting-edge Tunity technology, where guests can scan select television broadcasts within each tavern and stream audio from that television through their smart device. The enhanced features are a first of its kind for the tavern industry. Through the company’s PT’s, Sean Patrick’s and Sierra Gold brands, Golden is the largest traditional tavern operator in Nevada.The initial version of the mobile app launched last fall, which allowed Golden Rewards and Beer & Bites members to access promotional offers, as well as gifting food and beverage items to other guests.The enhanced app offers exclusive interactive gaming opportunities for Golden Rewards guests to win cash and gaming credits at PTEG taverns.“We are thrilled to introduce the next phase in our PT’s Entertainment Group mobile app technology to our loyal guests,” said Ross Gdovin, vice president of marketing for Golden Entertainment. “Delivering tavern experiences via interactive content to our guest’s smart devices is a logical enhancement to our app and we view this enhancement as a game changer in our tavern industry.”Guests who have already downloaded the “PT’s Entertainment Group Mobile App” will be required to update their current version unless auto-updates have been enabled. The updated application is available today in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.Through an agreement with VideoPoker.com, the PTEG app will offer weekly free play poker tournaments in which winners will have promotional free play automatically added to their accounts. Golden Rewards card holders automatically earn three free entries per week into the video poker tournament and can earn up to three additional entries daily through tavern play. The top prize payout each week is $1,000 in promotional free play.VideoPoker.com is the No. 1 website for people to practice on free play authentic video poker games. Also, the 50 PTEG taverns in Southern Nevada will each have one weekly winner who will collect $50 in free play automatically added to their account. An overall season contest will be part of the contest that will award cash to the top 10 players with the most winners. First place takes home $10,000.Tunity technology allows guests to scan a muted live television broadcast such as a football game and stream the audio directly to their phone. Guests simply need to scan any live television and the app will identify the channel and stream the synchronized audio.All PTEG establishments in southern Nevada have an in-tavern redemption center/kiosk where guests can activate Golden Rewards and Beer & Bites offers, view their point and comp balance, membership tier status and previously redeemed offers.
