Reno: Daniel Farahi joins RSCVA board, says he looks forward to helping pick new tourism CEO Jason Hidalgo, Reno Gazette Journal · June 29, 2020 at 6:10 am Gaming executive Daniel Farahi was appointed by the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority to its board of directors on Thursday. Farahi, director of development services for Atlantis hotel-casino parent company Monarch Casino and Resort, will be filling the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority’s seat on the tourism authority’s board. Farahi also serves on the board of trustees for the airport authority and will replace fellow airport board member Nat Carasali, whose term just expired on the RSCVA board. Farahi joins the RSCVA board in the midst of a new CEO search. Former CEO Phil DeLone resigned his position in February citing health reasons. DeLone was also being investigated for misconduct and inappropriate behavior at the time, which was substantiated by a third-party investigator.
