The newly launched online casino AhtiGames doesn’t target the Finns exclusively, but it is focusing on that market primarily, and branding itself as such. In reality, it will also be available across the Scandinavian nations of Norway, Sweden and Denmark, as well as in the UK and Germany.

The branding behind the new offering is strongly geared around the history and culture of the Finns, with the name itself inspired by the Finnish God for the sea, Ahti, or Ahto, who is thought to have been inspired by a possibly real historical figure who was known to be a fearsome sea-faring warrior. He certainly featured heavily in some important oral poetry traditions dating back to the Iron Age in Finland. Who knows, maybe he liked a flutter as he was roaming the seas on his epic adventures.

The casino features content from a wide range of game developers, including Microgaming, Yggdrasil Gaming. GVG, Evolution Gaming and Williams Interactive, as well as Amaya and NextGen Gaming. The full game library is both web and mobile accessible. SkillOnNet are providing the offering with a CRM tools-based backend and accompanying casino marketing service.

SkillOnNet Sales and Marketing Director Michael Golembo released a statement to accompany the launch’s announcement, stating in part that “We are thrilled to launch the latest casino brand on the SkillOnNet platform. … Adding to the major success of our established casinos like the multi-award winning PlayOJO and the sensation(al) DrueckGlueck, we look forward to powering AhtiGames into a market-leading position.”

AhtiGames boasts of its “sea” of payment options and promises simple deposits and fast withdrawals, offering Skrill, Paypal, VISA, Mastercard, sofort, and paysafecard, among others. The site is host to over 1,200 casino games including slots, London Roulette, live casino offerings and classic card games such as blackjack variants. Their branding emphasizes fair play and responsibility. To quote from the website, “My underwater domain was built on a foundation of trust and responsibility to ensure an un-ending flow of fun, fair, reliable and 100% secure casino gaming.”

It seems to be an opportune time to join the market in Finland, with online gambling increasing across the nation by 10% in the first quarter of 2018. Online is now responsible for over 50% of all gambling in Finland according to the results in the latest quarter.
