Slot-like HHR machines destined for New Hampshire

David McKee, CDC Gaming Reports · May 13, 2022 at 10:22 am

Creeping closer to full-fledged casino gambling, New Hampshire will soon be home to 50 historical horse racing terminals at Ocean Gaming Casino.

The pari-mutuel machines display footage of previously run races and players bet on the (concealed) outcome. International Game Technology, AGS, and IntuiCode will be the initial suppliers, with their devices supported on Exacta Systems’ Connect software platform. Tax proceeds from the HHR terminals will go to the New Hampshire Education Trust Fund and to local charitable organizations.

“Exacta has worked diligently with us and the New Hampshire Lottery to ensure compliant and responsible expansion of charitable gaming,” said Ocean Casino executive Anthony Fusco.

Added Exacta CEO Jeremy Stein, “Today’s announcement is evidence of our long-term commitment to HHR and the New Hampshire market. By providing customers with our versatile system, Exacta Connect, we are able to offer patrons a diverse portfolio of game content. And with an office in Manchester, Exacta is ready to deliver the high level of support our customers have come to expect.”

In addition to the historical horse racing devices, Ocean Casino offers charitable roulette, blackjack, craps, poker, and euphemistically named “electronic gaming.” The Granite State has been unable, despite efforts in several successive legislatures, to legalize for-profit casinos, resulting in tinkering around the margins, such as the move to install HHR machines.
