With IGT’s soon-to-launch PowerSight machines, slot players literally keep their eyes on the prize in a new Sex and the City game.

In bonus rounds and at other points of the game, players get to choose from several on-screen objects. They stare at the one they choose, and the machine senses their choice by tracking eye movement.

“This is the first time we’ve developed this technology,” said Michelle Schenk, IGT’s senior manager of Global Communications – Gaming.

PowerSight is among hundreds of innovations that IGT is spotlighting at the Global Gaming Expo. The company has added several long-time favorite titles to its lineup of games on the Crystal Curve screen, expanded its offering of electronic table games, and introduced new features to a mobile app that allows play on mobile devices within a casino.

“Our Let’s Play theme introduces a vast portfolio of content across our core and premium categories,” said Renato Ascoli, IGT’s CEO for North America Gaming & Interactive.

Schenk said this is the first G2E that the company is offering the 43-inch Crystal Curve cabinet for sale with pre-installed commercial content.

Several long-time slot favorites have joined the CrystalCurve core lineup, including Wild Fury Jackpots, Ocean Magic Grand, Big 5 Safari and Golden Egypt. Those games originally were developed for dual-screen IGT cabinets.

The Cleopatra Gold game, new to the Crystal Curve core lineup, builds on a popular theme. The screen’s large image of Cleopatra includes eyes that blink at players.

The company has expanded its electronic table games to include auto roulette using a random number generator. Other games include live Dynasty Blackjack, Dynasty Sic Bo, Dynasty Baccarat and roulette. Dynasty Baccarat offers players multiple choices, including side bets and the option of choosing three games on every live hand that is dealt.

The company’s Live Connect technology allows operators to feed any live roulette and baccarat game on a casino floor to an ETG terminal, allowing the games to involve more players without adding dealers or tables.

All Dynasty offerings work with IGT’s PlaySpot app, which has been enhance to allow players to place ETG wagers on their mobile phone from the swimming pool, restaurant or any other permitted location within a casino.

Another IGT development on display is the TournXtreme line of slots, which dramatically reduce the amount of time required to switch between tournament mode and regular-play mode. Traditionally, setting up a slot tournament is a logistical nightmare, requiring the roping off an area while machines are carted in or manually adjusted for tournament play.

With TournXtreme slots, however, the machine mode can be switched in a matter of seconds, allowing cash play to continue virtually to the start of the tournament.

IGT’s 25,000-square-foot display is in Booth 3659 on the G2E Exhibit floor.
