Parx Casino and Harrah’s both filed WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notices with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry. At Parx Casino in Bensalem Township Bucks County, there were 1,997 people laid off on April 15, which is the fourth largest mass layoff in the state since 2011. The casino closed as a result of Gov. Tom Wolf’s order in March that all non-life sustaining businesses should close due to COVID-19.
