Stealing a march on rival Fontainebleau, The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas has plucked away its vice president of sales, catering and conference services. Industry veteran Tony Yousfi is joining the Venetian brain trust as chief sales officer. Prior to Fontainebleau, Yousfi served with Carver Road Hospitality as chief growth officer and at MGM Resorts International, where he specialized in catering and in weddings. He has been in the industry for 18 years.

“We are honored Tony will be joining our dynamic leadership team,” said Patrick Nichols, CEO of The Venetian (and himself newly arrived from The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas). “Meetings are at the heart of The Venetian Resort, and Tony’s remarkable experience will help guide our commitment to innovation and growth.”

Yousfi returned the compliment, saying, “The Venetian Resort is iconic and really changed the landscape of meetings and conventions in Las Vegas,” referring to the late Sheldon Adelson’s conventions-first focus. “I’m thrilled to join this team and build upon its legacy as a leader in the [meeting] industry.”

Accolades earned during Yousfi’s two-decade career include a 2019 Top 25 award from Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International “for his exhibition of exceptional leadership and contributions to the hospitality industry.”
