Teenagers under the age of 18 will no longer be allowed to play the National Lottery online from [Thursday] as part of a gambling crackdown.
From April 22, those aged between 16 and 17 will no longer be allowed to buy a Euromillions ticket or even a scratch card under the new rules.
Tonight’s National Lottery draw will be the last chance under 18s will have to take part in a legal draw, before they are banned tomorrow. The ban comes amid fears that as many as 55,000 kids could be addicted to gambling.
A Lottery spokesman said: “From 22 April 2021, players must be 18 or over to play National Lottery games online, in store, and on the app.”
