BT has confirmed it is holding discussions ‘with a number of strategic partners’ over the sale of its sports broadcasting unit, BT Sport.
The broadcaster has enlisted investment bank Lazard to explore the partial sale, according to The Telegraph, with Amazon, Disney and DAZN all having held discussions with BT, although an anonymous British broadcaster is said to be leading the race.
The company released a statement confirming reports which read: “BT can confirm that early discussions are being held with a number of select strategic partners, to explore ways to generate investment, strengthen our sports business, and help take it to the next stage in its growth.”
