Vector Solutions has fielded a lot of interest from tribal casinos after rolling out its new sports betting course, along with online training of employees as properties do away with in-person and classroom training.

That’s the setting at booth No. 1605 at the Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention.

“We’re promoting our online learning system as a way to help onboarding post-COVID and help casinos get back up to staffing levels,” said Lauren Melcher, senior manager of products. “Our online learning system not only helps with compliance and regulatory training, but also with any new-hire orientation and guest-services videos that can be uploaded into our system to streamline the new-hire onboarding process.”

Melcher said they’ve received a lot of questions from properties wanting to know if their in-person and classroom training can be turned into online training. That way it can be tracked and reported in one place, she said. “They mentioned that in-person training isn’t an option anymore or don’t want to bring in people to train in the classroom. They’re looking into a solution for that.”

Vector has a new sports betting basic course for casinos opening sportsbooks for the first time as betting expands across the country. “Sports betting is expanding and a hot topic, so we’re getting questions about compliance,” Melcher said.

For properties opening a sportsbook in a state that recently legalized it, the chances are that employees don’t know much about it, Melcher said. Vector’s program is a great introduction to what sports betting is, she added.

“It’s all about the history of sports betting and how to place sports bets. It helps train new employees or employees new to sports betting,” Melcher said. “That ties in with our comprehensive anti-money-laundering training for those new sportsbook employees.”

Vector Solutions is promoting its AML conference Oct. 11 to 13 at Caesars Palace, in which it will bring in Title 31 industry experts to talk about compliance. “It’s our first in-person event since the pandemic, so we’re excited to see everybody back in person focusing on AML hot topics,” Melcher said.
