Available to the General Public, Video Course Provides Critical Information and Tips to Stay Healthy

Vector Solutions, the parent company of Casino Essentials, has launched a complimentary COVID-19 video course designed to educate and help individuals and their loved ones and colleagues stay safe and healthy.

Available under the company’s Vector Cares Program, the course called Coronavirus 101 features detailed, critical information about the coronavirus, including, how the coronavirus spreads; how to recognize symptoms; how to prevent and treat the virus; and what to do if you become sick with the virus, according to Kara Schafer, corporate communications and public relations manager for Vector Solutions, a leader in eLearning and SaaS performance support solutions.

“The course is just over nine minutes and provides basic information about what folks can do to protect themselves and recognize symptoms of COVID-19, steps to prevent exposure, what they can do if they suspect they’ve been exposed to it or have it,” Schafer said. “It’s based on information from the CDC (Center for Disease Control) that’s critical to the public right now.”

Casino Essentials, which is based in San Diego, serves the gaming industry and provides performance support for compliance with government regulations. It provides training and solutions that help casinos adhere to that compliance.

The coronavirus course can be found at www.vectorsolutions.com/about-us/vector-cares or on Vector’s Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts.

The Vector Cares Program focuses on areas where Vector Solutions can do the most good by leveraging the technology and capabilities of Vector’s online courses and learning platforms alongside service to local communities, Schafer said. Launched in 2019, the program currently features complimentary resources on active shootings in the workplace and at school, bullying, youth suicide awareness and prevention, PTSD in the fire service industry, and others, she said.

“Our company provides online learning and support solutions, training, compliance courses, and skill courses to a variety of industries, and this course we released is in line with what we do as a business and our focus on serving our communities through philanthropic efforts,” Schafer said. “Given the uncertain and rapidly changing situation of COVID-19 we felt this resource could be utilized for all of our customers and clients as well as the general public. There is a lot of misinformation out there right now or information overload too.

Schafer said everyone is facing the threat of COVID-19, and the information is something everyone should want to share with their family, friends, colleagues and co-workers.

“The goal is to provide people with timely and accurate information,” Schafer said. “Vector Solutions is also working on four additional courses related to COVID-19, and we expect to release those in the coming days and weeks as soon as they’re available.”

Those will focus on transitioning to a remote workplace, preparing your household, managing stress and anxiety and cleaning and disinfecting your workplace, Schafer said. They are not created with a particular industry in mind but for everyone, she added.

“We’re planning to release a course that focuses on transitioning to a remote workplace and other courses within the platform that addresses some of these topics as well,” Schafer said. “It can be a helpful resource for a lot of businesses as some of them do transition to a remote workforce. These are some basic short courses that folks can watch and take lessons from.”

Some 95 percent of the country’s 465 commercial casinos and 76 percent of 524 tribal casinos have shuttered their doors, according to the American Gaming Association.

Schafer said Casino Essentials, meanwhile, is offering casinos additional information and resources.

Vector Solutions was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Tampa, Florida.
