William Hill US takes over sportsbook operations at Golden Entertainment’s Nevada properties

CDC Gaming Reports · February 13, 2019 at 8:45 pm

Sportsbook operator William Hill US officially took over the race and sports book operations Wednesday at the Nevada casinos owned by Las Vegas-based Golden Entertainment.

William Hill began operating the sportsbooks at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur and Arizona Charlie’s Boulder in Las Vegas, Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin and a new sportsbook under construction at The STRAT (formerly the Stratosphere). The facility is expected to open in late March.

The agreement extended William Hill’s current arrangement with Golden Entertainment, which included operating a sportsbook at the company’s Pahrump Nugget and full-service kiosks at the Gold Town and Lakeside casinos in Pahrump. William Hill also has depositing kiosks at some 80 Golden Entertainment wholly-owned taverns and third-party-distributed gaming locations throughout Nevada.

William Hill will also continue to operate the race and sports books at Edgewater and Colorado Belle casino resorts in Laughlin, following Golden Entertainment’s recent acquisition of the properties.

“The addition of the four new casino resorts marks an exciting new chapter in our relationship with Golden Entertainment,” said Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill U.S.

Golden Entertainment Chief Operating Officer Steve Arcana added, “We look forward to growing our business in Nevada and other jurisdictions through this partnership.”

William Hill and Golden Entertainment will also pursue sports wagering opportunities in Montana and Maryland, subject to enabling legislation within these states. Golden Entertainment currently operates distributed gaming across Montana in approximately 300 locations and owns Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Maryland.
